We advocate “Hong Kong Trusted Merchants” for emphasis on the trustworthiness of merchants registered in Hong Kong, whose internet presence is certified by Hongkong Post e-Cert (Server). Mainland residents may look up the e-Cert (Server) to prevent it from visiting a phishing website that may display a series of bogus web page interfaces on the Mainland resident's computer that entice the Mainland resident to input important information (such as login name, password). Moreover, merchants can initiate request for verification of mainland resident's identity, acquisition of a mutual recognition electronic signature certificate ("MR certificate") issued by China Financial Certification Authority ("CFCA"). CFCA has been authorized to issue MR certificate in compliance with the Certificate Policy for Mutual Recognition of Electronic Signature Certificate ("MRCP") through an arrangement for Mutual Recognition of Electronic Signature Certificates between Beijing and Hong Kong. Additionally, the platform utilizes the latest facial recognition technology, big data, cloud storage, credit reference reports and document identification technologies to enhance the trustworthiness, legal protection, cost effectiveness and timeliness of remote signing in non-face-to-face situation. Blockchain technology is adopted to offer a way to securely and efficiently create a tamper-proof log of cryptographic-ally verifiable value of the signed electronic contract. As such, the platform can support arbitration under the legal jurisdiction of the two places.
