On October 25, 2018, Ms Eva Chan, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong PKI Forum and CEO of Certizen Limited, was invited to participate in the “Beijing-Hong Kong Cooperation to Create a New High-tech Industry” activity, the 22nd Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium. Under the witnesses of Ms Wang Lan, Assistant Director of the Beijing Municipal Commission for Economic and Information Technology, Mr Victor Lam, JP, Government Chief Information Officer of Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO), HKSAR, Dr. Winnie Tang, JP, Founder and Honorary President of Smart City Consortium, and Mr Kenny Chien, President of Hong Kong Software Industry Association, Hong Kong PKI Forum, Beijing Software and Information Service Industry Association, Beijing Commercial Cryptography Industry Association, Beijing Certificate Authority, Smart City Consortium/Hong Kong Software Industry Association and Hong Kong Chinese Manufacturers’ Association signed the Memorandum of Promoting Non-face-to-face E-Certificate Cooperation between Beijing and Hong Kong.

Content of the Memorandum includes: Beijing and Hong Kong jointly promote a cross-border e-certificate framework strategy that is in line with the legal effects of the two places to ensure the authenticity of the transaction parties and the validity of the electronic contract; Building up financial innovation talents, and cultivate more outstanding professionals for the long-term cooperation and legal rights protection of Beijing and Hong Kong; Beijing and Hong Kong will complement each other's advantages and promote the e-certificate platform to the countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”.

The special event was hosted by the Beijing Municipal Commission for Economic and Information Technology, co-organized by the Government Information Technology Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and co-organized by the Beijing Software and Information Services Association and the Hong Kong Software Industry Association.
